David Winnard Independent Financial Adviser
I have worked in Financial Services for 25 years gaining significant experience from various roles.
I initially joined the industry working as Financial Adviser for a large Life Insurance provider before joining a major UK Bancassurer where I worked for 17 years.
During this period, I was employed as a Branch-based Financial Adviser before securing promotion to Line Manager. In the later years of my Bank career, I worked as a Regional Business Development Manager and finally Senior Wealth Manager and passed the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) Level 4 Diploma in Financial Services qualification.
Following closure of the Bancassurance Division and voluntary redundancy, I took the opportunity to work as a Self-Employed Financial Adviser where I enjoyed for 5 successful years building a business from scratch.
However, an opportunity arose to work as an Independent Financial Adviser for Thomson Hayton Winkley Financial Services in 2019. This was too good to miss as our firm have an excellent reputation for providing trusted, holistic financial advice to clients.
I have built excellent business relationships with the Thomson Hayton Winkley Solicitors and Estate Agency practices, and I have thoroughly enjoyed working with both new and existing clients to help improve their financial situation.
I am also continuing my journey towards achieving the CII Level 6 Chartered Financial Planner status and hope to achieve this in the next 12 months.
Outside of work I am married with a son who is currently studying at the University of Liverpool.
I am a keen Road Bike Cyclist (another Middle-Aged Man in Lycra!) and Fell Walker who has almost completed the 214 Wainwright Fells.
I enjoy eating out and taking part in charity events to raise money for good causes.
